Gallery Hours By Appointment Only:

Artist Statement:
Esthesia, a word with Greek origins meaning feeling and perception, is an exhibition comprised of pieces that communicate the deep, inter-connected relationship between art and music by depicting an interpretation of varying music albums through a visual medium. This exhibition is rooted in inspiration from Wassily Kandinsky, a renowned abstract artist known for his marriage of sound and art. These compositions have been created to encourage the notion that, by presenting music visually, music and art together become an experience rather than two separate forms to be observed.

Bio:
Hello! My name is Cat, and I am an abstract artist from Philadelphia and based in Lynchburg. I am largely inspired by the Abstract Art movement--a rich movement pioneered by artists such as Picasso, Malevich, and Kandinsky. Most of my inspiration for my work comes from Kandinsky which is what influenced my exhibit.I am known for my dark linework art, but I also enjoy creating collages as well as poetry paired with illustration. It is an honor to be able to have an exhibition of my works at the Riverviews Artspace, and I am thankful to all of you who are viewing my art. Cheers!
