Now a nation-wide call for entry, the Riverviews Artspace Annual Juried Art Show has been a tradition for 11 years. Artists of any media and subject matter, from any US state can enter 3 works for consideration to the chosen juror. Jurors in the past have been museum curators and educators from the VMFA in Richmond and the National Gallery in D.C., gallery owners, and contemporary art writers from across VA.
The 2019 juror is Joseph Krakora, the former Executive Officer for External and International Affairs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC for nearly three decades.
This year’s call for entries yielded over 140 artists from many of the United States and artwork in various media, from painting to photography to sculpture to video art. Of these entries, only 43 artists were selected to participate in the exhibition. Krakora will announce his winners for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes during the opening reception on November 1st, 2019. An update will be made with the award information after the event.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place chosen by the juror, as well as a People’s Choice Award that will be voted on by gallery visitors throughout the month of November. Prizes are as follows:
