Raw and Primitive Emotions: Unveiling Women's Inner Realities

Monica Hebert

October 6th through October 27th

Gallery Hours: Wednesday through Sunday: 12–5 p.m.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

I am a painter. I use color to serve two specific subjects or focus.

In my classical work, I use oil paint to create pictures that savor the magic of the natural world. My goal is to have a silent conversation between my art and the viewer. I strive to take natural elements around me and infuse them with a bit of magic.

In my social activism, I use paint to create emotions that reflect the situations within the general public that are marginalized. These particular art works are generally raw and primitive, allowing for the sheer drama of the intended emotion to impact the viewer. These pieces are created intentionally in hopes to bring awareness and further to inspire conversations that can lead to solutions.
