Types of use
The SPARKS Digital Media Art Lab is open to any artist, but is for artistic professional development use only. These include but are not limited to email, Adobe Creative Cloud, event planning and press releases, scanning, printing and designing promotional materials
The workstations are not permitted for personal use. Chatting, playing games, online shopping, downloading and watching videos, viewing sexually explicit images or text, and/or using Facebook for social purposes are not permitted, and these applications may be blocked. Patrons using workstations for only these functions may be asked to leave.
Workstation use is limited to operating hours of the Riverviews galleries — Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm – 5pm; subject to availability.
Workstations may be reserved for up to two (2) hours for next-day or future reservations, and one (1) hour for same-day reservations. These can be made with a Riverviews staff member directly via phone or email. Reservations can be extended past two hours at the end of the allotted time at the discretion of Riverviews staff. Advance reservations are limited to two per week. Keys are offered
Running late and cancellations
Reservations will be released 15 minutes past the start time if the patron hasn’t arrived or notified SPARKS Lab staff that they’re running late. Let us know if you’re not able to keep your appointment!
Riverviews staff members are available to help you answer supported software questions, and troubleshoot problems. Staff can answer general questions related to the hardware (printers, scanners, etc.) and software (Adobe CC, etc.). Due to their many duties, staff are limited to 15 minutes to assist with a project without a previous reservation.
SPARKS Lab users who need one-on-one assistance with specific projects (scanning, photo printing, or using professional software such as Adobe Creative Cloud) are asked to make an advance reservation so one of our staff will be on-hand to assist you. One-on-one SPARKS Lab assistance must be requested at least one (1) business day in advance via email or phone. There is no charge for this service, but sessions are limited to 30 minutes, once per week.
Personal cell phone calls, food and drink, loud group conversations or music (you must wear headphones), disruptive behavior or abusive language directed toward any staff or patrons using the SPARKS Lab are prohibited. Failure to comply with this agreement may result in the loss of SPARKS Lab privileges.
