Dana Crossan, July 4th – August 22nd, 2014

I Wouldn’t Put it Past the Future – paintings by Dana Crossan

Dana Crossan’s intention is to revive and uphold true non-representational art. In a world of technology based art, Crossan remains devoted to works made by the artist’s hand. Her recent body of work directly questions the art world and reflects the emotion of everyday experiences. Her signature process of layered text, mark making, and saturated fields of color fill the canvas and call to mind the works of Cy Twombly and Helen Franklenthaler. For Crossan, the “wow” factor of art is not merely about an idea but the talent of bringing the idea itself to life. Join us for the opening reception and artist talk on First Friday, July 4th from 5:30 -8:00 pm. The exhibition will be on view through August 22nd. Craddock-Terry Gallery hours are 12:00 – 5:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday or by appointment.
