The Co-op Gallery at Riverviews opens a new exhibit in March, “Songs of Nature”, with artwork by our twenty two member artists.
David Eakin is our featured artist. His paintings can be seen on the back wall of the gallery.
DAVID EAKIN BIO
A native Virginian who resides in Forest, Virginia, David Eakin received degrees in fine art from Ferrum College and graphic arts at Lynchburg College. He is a signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and the Baltimore Watercolor Society. Eakin has been painting for most of his life but professionally for almost 30 years. He has been painting in “Plein Air” since 1999. Eakin paints with Oil, Gouache, and Acrylic paints but continues to experiment with different media including digital paint. In 2016 he joined a group of artists on Facebook called “365 International” who create some type of artwork daily for a year and post each day. Eakin’s work has been juried into and received awards from regional, national and international art exhibitions. He exhibits work at Pheasant’s Eye Gallery, Lynchburg, VA; The Market Gallery, Roanoke, VA; the Lynchburg Art Festival & Art Club; Riverviews Artist’s Co-Op Gallery at Riverviews Artspace as well as the Academy of Fine Arts both located in downtown Lynchburg, VA.
